Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the ContactSentry app for iPhone and iPad (the "app"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. Where these terms are silent, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (standard EULA) applies.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on Apple devices you own or control, within the limits of the App Store Usage Rules. You may not copy, modify, decompile, resell, or distribute the app, or use it for unlawful purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

2. ContactSentry trial

The app is free to download, with no payment card and no account. For 7 days after first launch you can save up to 3 new contacts per day to the archive. The trial also includes the archive, search, tags, the map, vCard export and 1 personal card with a QR code. Editing contacts already saved does not count toward the daily limit. After the 7 days, the archive and that personal card remain available; saving new contacts and adding more personal cards require ContactSentry Pro (up to 10 My Cards). The trial is granted once: deleting and reinstalling the app does not start a new 7-day period. Unlimited contacts, batch import, Contacts cleanup and ZIP backup with photos are part of ContactSentry Pro. There is no automatic conversion to a paid plan and you are not charged unless you confirm a purchase.

3. ContactSentry Pro — Yearly (subscription)

ContactSentry Pro Yearly unlocks unlimited contacts, batch import and Contacts cleanup for 12 months. The price shown on the App Store is in your local currency; local taxes may apply and the price may change over time.

• The subscription is managed by Apple and charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
• It renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can cancel anytime in Settings › [your name / Apple ID] › Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid; there are no partial refunds for the remaining time.
• Apple will notify you of any price change before renewal, as required by App Store rules.

4. ContactSentry Pro — Lifetime (one-time purchase)

ContactSentry Pro Lifetime is a single, non-renewing in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited contacts, batch import and Contacts cleanup with no expiration. It is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored free of charge on other devices signed in with the same Apple ID via "Restore Purchases". The price shown on the App Store is in your local currency; local taxes may apply and the price may change over time.

5. Payments and refunds

All payments are processed by Apple. The developer receives no payment data and cannot issue refunds directly. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under App Store terms and the law applicable in your country.

6. Operation and requirements

• The app requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later.
• Features based on Apple Intelligence require a compatible iPhone (iPhone 15 Pro or later) with Apple Intelligence turned on. On other devices the app works with Apple Vision and manual review of the fields.
• Automatic reading of cards may contain errors. You are responsible for checking the data before saving or using it. The review screen exists for this purpose.
• The app does not need an internet connection to work, except for download and purchases through the App Store and for displaying maps through Apple's services.

7. Contacts cleanup

The Contacts cleanup feature reads your iOS address book on the device to find duplicate and empty contacts. It performs edits and deletions in your Contacts only after your explicit confirmation of each merge or deletion. Those changes are made directly in the Contacts database on your device, exactly as the Contacts app would, and may sync through iCloud or other accounts you have configured. Merges and deletions cannot be undone by the app. You are responsible for keeping a backup of your contacts; the app offers a VCF export of your whole address book on the same screen for this purpose.

8. Data and privacy

The app collects no data and transmits nothing to the developer. All data stays on your device under your control, or in your own private iCloud database if you turn on optional iCloud sync in Settings. You alone are responsible for backing up your data (for example through VCF export, ZIP backup, or an iOS backup) and for complying with data protection laws when handling the contact details of the people you meet. 9. No warranty and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of text recognition, or absence of errors. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect damages, loss of data (including contacts merged or deleted through Contacts cleanup), lost profits, or other damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under applicable law.

10. Updates and termination

We may release updates and change or discontinue features of the app. We may revoke the license if you violate these terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it; any active subscription must be canceled separately as described in section 3.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page with the date shown at the top. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
